My Blog

5 weeks to go...

5 weeks to go....

I can hardly believe it has been so long since I wrote my blog...
what excuse can I give... I wonder...

Ok I have been busy (how lame does this sound)
The truth is that other priorities seem to have got in the way of my usual daily routine.

Looking after my 4 year old grandson has been my main distraction, plus my daughter moving from one place to another beautiful rented home in this wonderful Yorkshire countryside.  The views from my bedroom window are awesome, just looking out at the endless green fields and hearing the sound of sheep in the distance together with birdsong leaves me with an inner sense of peace.
Another major distraction has been my job at a very impressive italian restaurant, this has taken me back in time to what seems like another life, a time when I owned a restaurant in Whitby.  This time I seem to be working just as hard whilst earning very little! still I have enjoyed meeting lots of new people and old friends along the way and finally becoming confident in my ability to open a bottle of wine without struggling with the corkscrew! The most difficult part of the job has been the late finishes, In Queensland I am used to being up at 5am and ready for bed at 9pm whilst here I have been leaving the restaurant some evenings at 11.30pm and finding myself still awake at 3am! ..   I will be arriving home with even more bags under my eyes!  but with lots of good memories to being home with me!

My thoughts are now beginning to focus on returning home and catching up with all my friends, colleagues and clients.. of course after spending a few special days with my Husband and little Poodles!

But before I return, I also have the opportunity to spend a few days with my son in Thailand where he lives and works.  How small the world seems now.  Only 10 years ago I would never have believed that I would be living  in Australia with one child of mine in Thailand whilst the other was living in the UK.  Anything is possible ... and 'doable' if you can dream it you can certainly achieve it!

It is 2.15 am here ... it's one of those nights where I finished work late after a very busy evening and as I couldn't sleep I decided to catch up with my blog.... I know there are those of you out there that actually look at my pages as I can see a record of visits... please say hello next time you visit from cyberspace :-)

I am planning one more workshop before I leave the UK, this will be held in Darlington with a good friend and colleague of mine who is an exceptional therapist called Helen.
I will post an event on here shortly and if any of you in the Darlington area want to lose weight quickly, easily and change your outlook for good, then drop me a line or give me a call and I will be happy to give you more details.

Until then...

ps.  I am still running! I ran the 1/2 marathon distance a couple of weeks ago and since Sarah moved home the hills around here are a new challange for me.
I am loving the running, the way I can just pop on my running gear any time and anywhere and jog along with my thoughts for company and around here..with just lots of sheep and rabbits to pass the time of day with!

Hello Ange It sounds like you have been leading a busy life over there. I can relate to what you say about being awake into the early hours of the morning after working so late. My eldest son also works in hospitality and he is the same. He says that no-one who comes home at five or six goes to bed at nine or so. You will have a bit or re-orienting to do when you get home, eh? Take it easy and we will see you soon. Bob.
