Well Here I am... Half way through my 6 month visit to the UK. How the time has flown by! My Daughter has recovered amazingly well after her surgery and has lost over one and a half stone in weight, she has heaps more energy and is working, having fun and walking most days to assist her in achieving her desired weight. I am loving being close to my Grandson and sharing experiences such as his first days at nursery school, he is loving making new friends especially the girls! he is a pleasure to be around and ... as I have been told my his school teacher... he is very mature for his age, mixes well with all the other children and nothing is too much of a challange for him (I am one proud grandma!) I am enjoying seeing a few clients with great results and working some evenings at a lovely Italian restaurant where I get to meet lots of lovely people, learn the italian names for delicious pasta's, pizza's and other italian dish's whilst earning some money to assist in my visit here. I do miss my Hubby and little Poodles so much and realise how fortunate I am to have them to go home to. Many people take their lives and people in it for granted, I suggest a long stay away from loved ones to any of you to help you appreciate them at a deeper level. My challange is having loved ones living at both ends of the world! We are coming into summer here although the days are more like a winters day on the Sunshine Coast, its interesting hearing my friends back home commenting on how freezing the weather is just now, they should try a winter in the UK to help them appreciate how fortunate they are to have such a fabulous climate to live in :-) Lots of interesting things happen every day and now I am sat here early in the morning having eventually managed to find time with an internet connection and no little person wanting my attention.... my thoughts are evading me as to what interesting things to write.... I learned a long time ago when my daughter was very young before heart surgery to live in the moment .. yesterday is a memory in our minds.. the future are thoughts and plans in our minds... the present is the here and now.. this moment is all we have.. treasure it ... look around and appreciate what is around you... really listen to the words people say without getting distracted by your internal dialogue... it is easy when we are busy to let precious moments pass us by.. I know when my children were young that I was so busy running a business and looking after our home that I didnt spend enough time just being with the children, listening to them, playing with them, enjoying their company.... it is only now.. as grandma that I realise that the things I used to stress about and worry about didnt really matter at all! so what if the washing isn't done or the carpets need a clean, even if the beds are not made and the little one wants a story to be read to them... just do it! enjoy them while you can :-) Till next time..
